Isabelle has been out and about.

Last week was Isabelle's 8th Birthday and she had a very special trip to London with Mummy to see the stage show of Frozen. She was so excited and happy.

Granny & Guy had an outing to London also to see Cirque du Soleil with good friends. First trip on a train for 2 years and guess who came too?

The show was magnificent. Such talented athletes. My favourite was the acrobats at the end.
It was jaw-dropping and heart-pumping stuff.

 Dolls, Dolls and More Dolls

When I was a little girl, dolls were my everything. I was never without one and I had quite a lot.

This was probably because I was 7 when my brother was born, so in those early childhood years I mostly played on my own with my dolls. When I started sewing it was to make clothes for the dolls. It's not surprising then that I still enjoy dolls.

When you are retired there is a limit to the amount of sewing you need to do for yourself so I was looking for a sewing outlet and made a few garments for our granddaughters' dolls. My doll hobby began.

These lovelies are mostly DesignaFriend brand sold by Argos, They have a soft body but are slimmer than the other two popular 18" dolls, American Girl and Our Generation Doll.

I buy these preloved dolls on eBay and restore them by cleaning their faces, arms and legs. Their hair requires a lot of work as it's often very tangled. A bit like attending to a young child's hair after having their hair washed. Detangle spray and gentle combing, bit by bit so I don't pull the hair out. Sometimes a little trim to tidy up the ends.

I have kept 7 dolls representing each of my grandchildren. Last weekend when we had a family party it was an ideal opportunity to get photos of all the children with their dolls. Unfortunately Anya was not with us that Sunday but I did quite well getting 6 children to sit together on the sofa with their dolls.

Now let the Adventures begin.......
